Between wears
Let the piece air in a dry, well-ventilated place away from strong sunlight. Allow it to rest before putting it away. Washing after every wear is not always necessary.
Cleaning
Check whether the label permits washing or requires professional cleaning. If handwashing is permitted, use cool water and a detergent suitable for wool and cashmere. Handle gently, without rubbing, soaking for long periods or wringing.
Drying
If washing is permitted, press out water gently and use a clean towel to absorb moisture. Reshape and dry flat, away from direct heat. Hanging wet knitwear can stretch it.
Storage
Store clean and completely dry. Fold scarves and hats instead of leaving them stretched over hooks. For longer storage, use a suitable protective container and check it periodically.
Pilling
Friction can bring loose fibres to the surface. Follow the maker’s advice before removing pills; work gently and avoid pulling at the yarn. Test any care tool on an inconspicuous area first.
